Welders - vacancies in both our Military Bridging Division and our Boxer Vehicle Division

Main Duties:

* To comply with the Environmental, Health and Safety Policy and identify health and safety hazards prior to the commencement of work
* To report via approved Maintenance Reporting Procedures any equipment fault or unusual occurrence.
*To weld using Mig / MAG / TIG / Stick and other welding processes.
* To use drawings, planning fabrication and weld procedures to complete all tasks and ensure through visual inspection that the welded finished component conforms to the drawing and planning specification and is in line with the European specification
*To use hand tools and the appropriate measuring instruments to the task.
*To complete European re-qualification of welder approval tests on a regular basis.
*To ensure their personal safety and the safety of all other employees is not compromised by their actions and to apply all applicable safety requirements to comply with the regulatory agencies.
*To meet deadlines, be flexible, dependable and time conscious and to work with minimum supervision.
*To maintain a clean and orderly work area as required.
*To conduct daily duties in a highly professional manner.

Experience & Qualifications:

*Recognised time served apprenticeship in a Welding or relevant discipline
*Practical welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
*Knowledge of key production processes and procedures

Fitters - vacancies in both our Military Bridging Division and our Boxer Vehicle Division

Main Duties:

*To comply with the Environmental, Health and Safety Policy and identify health and safety hazards prior to the commencement of work

*To set components to achieve the drawing and planning specification.
*To calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and precision instruments.
*To work with written Work Instruction to ensure the final component conforms to the drawing and planning specification.
*To select appropriate tools, equipment and materials in preparation of fitting operation.
*To position and fasten work pieces.
*To measure, examine, and visually inspect components to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers and verniers
*To input their production tickets on to SAP on completion of their operations.
*To ensure their personal safety and the safety of all other employees is not compromised by their actions and to apply all applicable safety requirements to comply with the regulatory agencies.
*To meet deadlines, be flexible, dependable and time conscious and to work with minimum supervision
*To maintain a clean and orderly work area as required.
*To conduct daily duties in a highly professional manner.

Purchasing Manager

Your job requires management of established procurement team to ensure consistent timely delivery of technically compliant materials and services to the WFEL Bridges Manufacture and procurement of non production materials and services for the WFEL business. This hands on role requires you to employ current supply chain best practice develop strategic supplier relationships personally and through your team at all times working within a governance framework and ensure robust commercial baselines / protections.

Main Duties:

* Influence and drive implementation of the procurement strategy at Bid and Production phases ensuring risk is clearly identified and provisioned for

* Manage the Bridges procurement team, prioritising and ensuring procurement needs of production and the business are delivered in a timely and commercially robust manner

* Create and implement appropriate contracts with strategic and tactical suppliers

* Lead multifunctional reviews and improvement activities with suppliers

* Be responsible for proactively driving supply chain obsolescence issues

* Undertake periodic personal development and objective reviews with each team member ensuring training needs are identified and executed

* Populate, communicate, and keep topical procurement metrics and reports. Validate against exception reports and ensure root cause of poor performance identified and mitigated internally and or with suppliers

* Ensure functional governance topical and team compliance

* Work closely with Quality to ensure robust and consistent supplier approvals, monitoring and ensuring preventative / corrective actions are closed in timely manner

* Represent procurement and procurement status in project and business meetings

* Identify areas for improvement and implement these changes

Experience & Qualifications:

* Business / Engineering degree or equivalent (desired)

* MCIPS (desired)

*Full UK Driving License

* Commodity buying and LME pricing. Familiarity with purchase of metals.

* Supply Chain/Procurement experienced gained in an Engineering and / or defence environment

* Demonstrable negotiating ability

* Proven understanding of and ability to create and implement appropriate commercial terms / service level agreements

* Strong focus on governance and supply chain robustness

* Experience of using SAP or other MRP system

* Microsoft Excel Intermediate level, ability to manipulate spreadsheets

* Import Export / Government Security Classifications knowledge

* Experience of procurement bid strategy development and execution

* Knowledge of Counterfeit and appropriate supply chain mitigations
