WFEL scoops major award in the north west

9 September 2009
The British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA) has awarded WFEL the accolade of Best International Impact at its inaugural North West BVCA CEO Awards 2009.

A panel of private equity industry experts and representatives from the BVCA recently met in Manchester to assess the achievements of CEOs of private equity and venture capital-backed companies in the Northwest.

Ian Wilson, chief executive of WFEL, has now been shortlisted in the same category for the National Finals that take place at the Hilton Park Lane in London on the evening of 14 October 2009, following the day's BVCA Summit 2009.

Private equity and venture capital-backed CEOs are responsible for some of fastest growing and most innovative companies in the UK. Around 1,300 British companies receive private equity and venture capital financing each year and the BVCA CEO Awards 2009 is the first awards event of its kind to exclusively celebrate the successes and achievements of CEOs of these companies.

Ian Wilson said: "This is an important recognition of WFEL's global reputation for engineering expertise in the defence sector. Thanks to the continued support of our partners at Dunedin, the group is in a strong position to capitalise on increasing demand from several overseas markets.

"The whole team at Heaton Chapel will be delighted with the award, as they know they've all played a big part in the business’ success to date."
